Jean Smeets, Ph.D.

Jean joined LAP&P in 2007 as a Consultant PK-PD.

Jean Smeets (1968) has studied Chemistry and Environmental Studies at Utrecht University (The Netherlands). After obtaining his M.Sc. (specialisation in Biochemistry and Toxicology), he started with his Ph.D. study in 1995 at the Research Institute of Toxicology (RITOX) at the Utrecht University. Subject of his thesis was the development of in vitro systems for measuring effects and bioactivation of environmental contaminants in fish. From 2000 to 2007 he has held positions as a Study Director pre-clinical PK and ADME at NOTOX (Den Bosch, The Netherlands), as Clinical Pharmacokineticist, as Project PK-PD Scientist, and as a Group Leader PK-PD Scientists at Organon NV (Oss, The Netherlands).
