Lia Liefaard, Ph.D.

Lia joined LAP&P as a Consultant PK-PD in 2006.

Lia Liefaard (1977) has studied Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences at Leiden University (The Netherlands), where she received her M.Sc. in 2000.
In 2008, she obtained her Ph.D. degree at Leiden University, where she had worked as a Ph.D. student at the division of Pharmacology of the Leiden/Amsterdam Centre for Drug Research. Subject of her thesis was the contribution of changes in GABA(A) receptor binding and effect to development of pharmacoresistance in epilepsy. This was investigated using PK-PD modelling of Positron Emission Tomography and EEG data obtained in animal models of epilepsy. In 2006, Lia has worked at GlaxoSmithKline R&D (United Kingdom) within Clinical Pharmacology & Discovery Medicine.
