Meindert is one of the founders of LAP&P (1999) and has occupied the CSO position until Jan 2005. Now, he is appointed as Senior Scientific Advisor of the company and Chairman of the company's Scientific Advisory Board.

Meindert Danhof (1951) has studied Pharmacy at Groningen University. After obtaining his M.Sc. (specialisation in Pharmacology) and Pharm.D., he started his Ph.D. project in 1976 at the School of Pharmacy of Leiden University. After obtaining his Ph.D title cum laude (with honours) in 1980, he has spent two years as a post-doctoral fellow at the State University of New York, Buffalo (USA). In 1996, he was appointed as professor of Pharmacology at the Center for Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences, Leiden University. As director of the Leiden-Amsterdam Center for Drug Research (LACDR) and Head of the division of Pharmacology, Meindert Danhof supervises the research projects of numerous M.Sc. and Ph.D. students and he has contributed to over two hundred peer-reviewed publications. He is editor for several journals in the field of Pharmacology and is quite active in developing and promoting the implementation of new techniques in drug development for industry and academia.
